UCC BSc Agriculture is a comprehensive academic program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the agricultural sector. UCC BSc Agriculture Cut-Off Points and Entry Requirements

The UCC B.Sc. Agriculture program tailored for applicants with a West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) background. To be eligible for admission into the program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Candidates should hold Credit passes (C6 for WASSCE and D for SSCE) in the three Core subjects, namely English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, along with three Elective subjects. Candidates must achieve Credit passes in three Elective Subjects, following any of the three options outlined below:

  • Option One: General Agriculture, Chemistry, and any one other Science/Agriculture subject.
  • Option Two: Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Elective Mathematics.
  • Option Three: Any three subjects from the Agricultural Science Electives – General Agriculture, Crop Husbandry and Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Forestry.

For candidates applying under Option Three, admission consideration is contingent on the successful completion of a 6-week Remedial Science Programme organized by the University of Cape Coast during the long vacation period preceding the start of the academic year. The overall aggregate for six subjects, under all the options, must not exceed 36 (WASSCE) or 24 (SSCE).

Post-Diploma Applicants

In addition to the general B.Sc. Agriculture program, the School of Agriculture provides a specialized 3-year Post-Diploma program leading to a B.Sc. (Agriculture) degree. Successful applicants join the regular B.Sc. (Agriculture) class at Level 200. The admission criteria for post-diploma applicants are as follows:

  • Possession of a Diploma in Agriculture or a related field from a recognized University or Polytechnic.
  • Credit passes (WASSCE or SSCE) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Successful completion of the Mature Entrance Examinations organized by the University of Cape Coast.
  • Satisfactory performance in a selection interview.

Candidates must submit certified copies of all relevant certificates and academic transcripts along with their completed Application Forms for verification purposes.
